Exosome Material Storage and Handling Guide

Best practices for receiving, storing, and handling MSC exosome material in a clinical setting.

Proper storage and handling of exosome material is critical for maintaining product integrity. Unlike small molecule drugs, exosomes are biologically active vesicles whose signaling capacity depends on intact membranes and functional cargo.

Receiving: Verify temperature data loggers on arrival. Inspect packaging for damage. Confirm lot numbers match the accompanying COA.

Storage: Non-lyophilized MSC exosome material should be stored at 2-8°C (refrigerated). Do not freeze unless specified by the manufacturer. Avoid temperature fluctuations.

Shelf life: Follow the manufacturer's labeled expiration date. B&H Bio provides lot-specific dating on every batch.

Handling: Use aseptic technique. Do not vortex or vigorously agitate. Thaw in controlled conditions per manufacturer specifications. Use immediately after opening — do not re-store opened vials.
